ACA SYMBIOTICS

Dear Aspiring Pilots,

Many have written in to ask about how airlines select aspiring pilots for the ab initio (fresh student without any flying experience) program using the ADAPT system. I have been able to get a brief sample of the BIO SYMBIOTIC program (see video above) for your reference and guidance.

From ACA SYMBIOTICS - The FAST test is part of the ACA Pilot Assessment Process: This Module takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

You will be required to:

- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Monitor a cockpit view and flight path
- Fly a 'crash' course
- Answer cognitive questions. The types of cognitive questions you will be asked are:
- Numerical Reasoning
- Verbal Reasoning
- Abstract Reasoning
- Perceptual Speed and Accuracy
- Spatial Relationship Reasoning
- Working Memory

Investment in flying to become an airline pilot is a very expensive endeavour for those without financial assistance. It is also very competitive and unless you excel in the aptitude test, your dream may be a long way off. Therefore, unless you are selected by an airline that guarantees you a flying job, you have to think very carefully whether it is worth your time and money to pursue this profession privately.
